Puppy Update

Heart shaped basket of precious puppies. Jackie still let them nurse occasionally but at 10 weeks she had enough. They would chase her down in the back yard.

Carly, the smallest puppy, and the first one to leave "the nest". The new owners could not find clothes small enough so her first sweater was made from a fuzzy sock. Her new name is Isabella Rose.

Meet Maxwell. or Dumbo as I liked to call him. He had the cutest ears. He left the day before Christmas.

Our puppy Snooki. Or Schnookie as I call him. They are all adorable but we decide early on we would keep her. Her coat was the smoothest and softest of all.

Latifa, the biggest of the puppies. at 1 pound 8 oz at the 7 week checkup. Renamed "Alli Grace". The smartest and liveliest puppy. She got out of the box 2 weeks before the others.

Christmas Dessert Concert

Every year our church has a Christmas Dessert Concert. Members bring their favorite desserts to share. And they are served on small plates for easy selection. Lots of yummy choices.
The concert was wonderful , but unfortunately the only picture I have shows the back of some one's head. I won't share that one with you. Our choir director had brain surgery just a few weeks back. God has healed him and he was able to direct the choir in this joyful concert. God is so good.

We saw Santa.

We sat on his knee and told him we have been very good this year.
A few pictures from my Mama and Daddy's home. My Mama put up two trees this year and they are both so pretty. These are in her porch room.

Every year she changes the display in the hutch to show off Santa's and Christmas dishes.

Many of them are treasures found year round at yard sales.

Happy Golden Anniversary to the Best Parents in the World

Today November 23rd is my parents 50th wedding anniversary. We had a party for them on Saturday night. It was wonderful. Lots of friends, family and great food.
I made a picture table for all to enjoy and reminisce.

I found the "moments in time" and the cake topper at the Antique mall where I have a booth. They were perfect. My parents were married in Germany and i do not think cake toppers were customary there but My Momma likes vintage things too so I knew she would like these.

This is me and my sister Barbel.

My dear, patient husband and me. Let's just say I was a little bit stressed with the preparations.

Where has the time gone?

Puppy Update. The puppies are doing great. Growing and getting a little more playful. Yesterday they were three weeks old. When I went to their box yesterday morning, they all walked to the edge of the box and tried to get out. Usually they lay there and wait for their Momma, Jackie to come feed them. One of them has a smoother softer coat than the others. I named her "Silkie" and she is our favorite. But they are all so cute. Ninety percent of the time when I look in their box. One of them is laying in the opposite direction.

Another thing taking up my time has been high school football. My son played on the ninth grade team and when their season ended, the coach let them "play" with the varsity team. He did not play much this year , but he did enjoy the experience and the practice. Here he is on the sidelines with his buddy, Hayden. Daniel is #87. Another funny thing is that Daniel wore 3 different numbers this season. It was hard for me to keep up sometimes
Can it really be November? Surely Christmas isn't NEXT month. I have bought a few gifts but some years I have been finished by now. Wait, maybe that was when my kids were little and those expensive wishes weren't at the top of their list.
.
I have been busy getting ready for the "Big Veterans Day Sale" the antique mall is having. I have been trying to arrange and rearrange my booth for maximum displaying potential. I have a small booth (6' x 10') with a lot of smalls. I thinks that is an "antique mall" word for everything but furniture. We always have a lot of traffic during out 3 annual sales.

It's Rednesday day at "It's a Very Cherry World"

I've been missing out on Rednesday. So today I "made time" to join in. Life is like that sometimes. You just have to "make time".
I could call this post "Scenes from Fall". The first picture was my Apple contest entry for the Georgia National fair. I did not place but certainly had a great time talking with the other contestants. The apple contest required presentation, so this was my display. Not all contests require this. Some are just the dish.
The other two shots are more scarecrows for the 4-H scarecrow contest.

Finally a couple of older pictures taken from a women's retreat a couple of years ago. It was in Dahlonega, Georgia. These pictures were taken at Burt's Pumpkin farm.

By the way, Jackie and her puppies are fine. She did move them all under our bed this morning. That is Jackie's favorite spot "to chill". But too chilly for puppies. I will move them back.

The puppies are here.

After a sleepless night Saturday night , the puppies finally started arriving at 6:05 a.m.. Jackie had the first one pretty easily. But, the second one would not come out. After waiting awhile we made the decision to go to a 24 hour vet, 30 minutes away. I held the whelping box with Jackie and her first puppy in my lap. I tried to help her. I was worried the other puppies would be affected. Five minutes away from the vet the second puppy was born. I tried for a long time to revive it but it did not make it. So sad. Very soon after, puppy three was born. Then the fourth puppy. By now of course we were on our way back home. We did not go to the vet. The fifth and final puppy was born at home at about 9:45. She has been a great Momma.

I have never helped with puppies. It was as very amazing experience.
